You spent hours getting every track link and hatch right. The way you display a finished model makes all the difference to how much you enjoy it afterwards.

Choose the right shelf

Measure before you buy. The assembled size of every 12GO® set is listed on its product page, and tanks in particular are often deeper than people expect. A shelf with a little space on every side lets the model breathe and makes it easier to dust.

Light it well

  • Avoid direct sunlight. Long exposure to strong sun can fade colours over time.
  • Use soft, indirect light. A small LED strip at the front edge of a shelf brings out panel lines and texture.
  • Light from above and in front rather than from behind, so the detail is not lost in shadow.

Keep the dust off

A soft make-up brush or a can of compressed air does most of the work. For your favourite pieces, a clear display case keeps them clean with almost no effort.

Group by story

Collections look best when they tell a story. Group your models by era, by nation or by type: WWII armour on one shelf, warships on another, engines together where people can see the mechanics. Our warships, the U-96 and the engine models come with their own display stand, which makes them easy to line up.

Leave room to grow

Most collectors find that one model quickly becomes three. Plan your shelf with space for the next build, and take a look at our Collector's Editions when you are ready for a centrepiece.
